The school would like to share a statement from Mrs Elin Boyle's family with you:
As a family we are beyond devastated. We cannot begin to describe how painful it is to have your loved one taken from you by this cruel mental health illness which Elin had to battle with for over 25 years.
We would like to thank South Wales Police and the Coastguard rescue teams for all their help and support during the search for Elin not just this time but also on previous occasions and to Staff and Pupils at Ysgol Plasmawr for their constant support to us as a family.
We are truly grateful for the comments on social media from friends, colleagues and pupils both past and present. She really was one in a million and we only wish she could have seen the love for her pouring in. She had a gift of making others feel better and happy and would go above and beyond to help others.
Our only consolation is that she is now at peace. ❤️
The school would very much like to thank everyone for the support and love which has been shown towards us all in the Plasmawr community this week.
With time there will be an opportunity for us as a community to celebrate the life and invaluable contribution Mrs Elin Boyle made, with an open invitation for anyone who wishes to join us.
Congratulations to all our Year 11 pupils who have performed extremely well in their GCSE and BTEC studies and have attained an excellent set of results, amongst the best in the school’s 20 year history. It has been a particularly challenging year for all which makes these set of results particularly impressive.
A big thank you to all the staff who have worked tirelessly throughout the year in ensuring that our pupils are given every opportunity to succeed.
Every individual has a story to tell and several pupils have faced ill-health and other difficulties in order to be able to sit their exams.
